The HR Department at a local manufacturer of power tools needed help managing an HRIS Implementation project. Three distinct systems were being migrated: Payroll, Compensation Planning, and Timekeeping. HR personnel were challenged with Project Management responsibility for this implementation while retaining responsibility for their normal day-to-day work. Managing these implementation projects added an estimated 10 hours per week to the workload of the HR personnel tasked with managing the implementation.
SafeNet partnered with the client’s IT analysts and developers to provide Project Management and Technical guidance to HR. SafeNet worked with internal staff to clarify the overall project scope, requirements and identify additional issues and risks to the business associated with migrating these systems. SafeNet helped HR and IT develop and implement a plan to address the issues found and mitigate risks to downstream systems.
Working with IT analysts and developers, SafeNet helped identify major dependencies on HR data in many critical downstream business systems. SafeNet was able to communicate the importance of maintaining data integrity to HR personnel in plain language so that HR could focus on the HR side of the implementation while being assured that the more technical aspects were being addressed in a timely and effective manner.
SafeNet worked to lessen the burden on HR as the keepers of the data by creating an efficient process for data conversion, standardizing the outputs from legacy HR systems to minimize the effort needed for pulling data in each conversion cycle.
Finally, SafeNet helped HR and IT to build a plan for appropriate communication to the rest of the organization, achieving clarity around what was happening when, and the impact to the business of each change.
SafeNet’s involvement with the project allowed all three major system implementations to go live on time and ensure payroll was met on schedule and all employees were paid correctly. Additionally, significant improvements to the employee onboarding process, identified during the project, were implemented to enhance data integrity and address process gaps that resulted from the new systems being implemented. SafeNet saved HR time and resources, providing project management and technical guidance and ensuring a successful HRIS implementation.
