Intro to Blockchain: It’s Not Too Late

No doubt you have heard the term “blockchain” and have seen the hype.

In the last 3 decades we have seen similar exuberance with other technologies. Some of them mature to a point of new business models and ideas that disrupt the status quo, many of them either fade away or become a step in an evolution.

It’s not too late to start learning about blockchain. This discussion will cover basic concepts and share perspective on where this technology is going so that you can start your journey.

This primer will include discussion on:

  • Blockchain and Adoption Curve and Hype Cycle
  • Where did it come from
  • What is blockchain
  • How does it work?
  • What initiatives are in play now?
  • Where is it going?
  • How do you get started?

The brainstorm workshop will take participants through an exercise of questions and topics. A framework of questions and topics will help the participant determine how blockchain may or may not apply to their own specific context.

The intended audience for this content is broad. It will mention technical components but will not use a lot of technical jargon. The focus is to understand technical capabilities and how they may be applied.
